About the webinar
The Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS) invites you to a webinar on "Building Bridges: Strengthening Systemic Convergence for Improved Nutrition Outcomes".
September is observed as Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month) by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD), marking a national commitment to improve nutrition outcomes. The responsibility for addressing malnutrition is shared between the Health and Women and Child Development (WCD) Departments yet differences in mandates, program designs, and operational approaches often result in fragmented action, diluted accountability, and uneven impact across states.
This webinar seeks to explore the challenge of convergence between the departments of Health and WCD through a systems lens. It will examine the gaps between policy intent and on-ground delivery, highlight examples of effective coordination as well as challenges, and discuss what state-level mechanisms, resources, and capacities are required to make convergence work. The session will bring together policymakers, practitioners, and sector experts to identify actionable pathways for harmonising inter-departmental efforts, ensuring that nutrition interventions are comprehensive, scalable, and sustainable.
