Deep Mehta works as an Economic Policy Analyst in the Economic and Statistical Unit (ESU) team in Chhattisgarh.

Prior to joining CEGIS, he contributed to policy research projects with the Institute of Development Studies (UK) and King’s College London, exploring complex issues such as digital trade policy, tax and debt frameworks, and informality in Global South economies. He has also worked with organizations including Nikore Associates, D.E. Shaw Research, and Calcutta Rescue, engaging in research on gender inequality, infrastructure development, and urban poverty.

Deep holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, University of Calcutta.
