CEGIS has been working with the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in Assam since 2021 under a 5-year MoU. The main objective of this engagement has been to provide technical and analytical support on both policies and implementation to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in areas of priority to BTC.

The CEGIS team is working with the Department of Women and Child Development, BTC to strengthen the design and  delivery of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) as part of the Early Childhood Care & Development (ECCD) initiative. This is a key priority of the BTC and is aimed at enhancing nutritional outcomes and cognitive development among children in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.

BTR (December 2021): Principal Secretary, BTC Shantanu Gotmare, and CEGIS CEO Vijay Pingale formalize the MoU agreement.

Our flagship project in the BTR is aimed at reducing the administrative burden on frontline workers and project level functionaries and thereby improving their capacity to deliver services to children under the age of six, pregnant women and lactating mothers. This work is being done through pilot interventions across the five districts of BTR  and is ultimately expected to benefit 3,00,000 women and children in the region. All of our interventions are developed collaboratively with government officials, district and project-level personnel, as well as frontline workers to ensure cultural appropriateness and effectiveness.
