S. Mathu Shalini is the Head of State Engagements at CEGIS. She oversees the delivery of our projects, where our team works closely with state governments and with complementary partners to implement specific interventions for improving development outcomes. The goal of this team is to test/implement our solutions in multiple contexts,  to synthesise our learnings and to feed them back so that our intervention design can be refined further.

She is a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who served in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Following her stint in the civil services, she joined  Khan Academy India where she led and scaled programs for improving quality education for children studying in government  schools. She has also been a Consultant for UNICEF’s Office of Global Insights and Policy.

She holds an Electronics and Communication Engineering Degree from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai. During her professional IAS training at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, she received the Director’s gold medal in Law and Economics.
